Collaborated with a diverse team of designers, developers, product managers, and content writers to roll out a brand new version of the customer facing Navy Federal Credit Union website which serves over 8 million members.
Utlilized component-based development, the Agile methodology, complex SASS logic, SVN, jQuery/Javascript, and modular page architecture while working in two week sprints.
March 2018 - CurrentWorked with a small team at the Office of Financial Research (a subsidiary of The Department of Treasury) to create an all-encompassing web presence. My responsibilities included information gathering, user experience research, the creation of wireframes/mockups and lastly, assisting with the buildout of a responsive website using Jekyll, SASS, Git, YAML, Bower, Grunt, and Markdown by way of the agile development process (Jira, Stash, Confluence).
November 2014 - February 2016Responsible for the UI/UX design/development and branding for a number of websites funded by the U.S. Department of Education including Find Youth Info (Federal Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs), State Training and Technical Assistance Center (Office of Juvenile Justice, U.S. Dept. of Justice), and The Center on Great Teachers and Leaders. Also created style guides, and best practice documentation for team wide use.
March 2012 - October 2014In a collaborative, team oriented environment utilized HTML/CSS, JQuery, and a multitude of social networking platforms and frameworks to create interactive experiences for Georgetown Alumni. Maintained the universities brand essence by closely adhering to brand guidelines.
March 2011 - March 2012Updated the majority of Catholic Relief Services high profile websites (both Wordpress and Drupal) to maintain branding consistency and increase the overall user experience on both desktop and mobile devices. Created new features, added new content, and collaborated with both team members and project stakeholders to further customer engagement in creative ways. Also created wireframes, high fidelity comps, and clickable prototypes to demonstrate potential ideas for project stakeholders and upper management.
November 2016 - July 2017Conceptualized, did user experience research, and front end development for a new big data analysis and analytics tool for the Defense Intelligence Agency by way of Evans and Chambers. Used the material design methodology to create wireframes and mockups, and used material design lite (MDL) to create detailed interactive prototypes.
September 2016 - October 2016Carried out user experience research, designed, and developed the front end of a cloud based Java big data and social media analysis and analytics tool. Also reworked predefined components of the existing interface in the browser with the end goal being creating the best possible experience for all users.
Also worked with a remote team and lead instructional development workshops on Git, SASS, NPM, Gulp, and Bower.
